Health Coaching

Health Coaching

How Are We Different From Everyone Else?

Nutritionist – Give you the list of foods to and not eat. Most people already know this

Therapists – Do not provide an end in sight, and there is no linking of mood and diet

Doctors – Do not work on the root cause of the symptom, but instead decide which pill to give

HEALTH COACHES PROVIDE THE HOW AND WHEN

As a Health Coach I serve as an active and supportive listener, using various core coaching skills to ask questions that allow a client to discover their own challenges and solutions. Health Coaches focus on the present, highlights a client’s strengths and helps them to make immediate lifestyle changes.

We talk about Nutrition and Lifestyle e.g. Stress, Weight, Energy Levels.

We look at the Primary Foods of life e.g. Spirituality, Career, Physical Activity and Relationships.

How to feel good about yourself

How to feel good about yourself.

  1. Be grateful for what you do have.
  2. Breathe, make sure you are breathing. Sounds funny but it is so important to take time out to do some deep breathing
  3. Drink water only when you are thirsty.  We over hydrate ourselves these days.
  4. Eat, only when you are hungry.  We overfeed ourselves too much.
  5. Find Spirituality
  6. Be in good relationships that nourish you and encourage you
  7. Be happy in your career. Seriously it can kill you.
  8. Be generous, give and it will come back to you.  That is in everything, your money, your time, your talents etc…

After only a short time my general heath and attitude towards life improved remarkedly thanks to her very inciteful input . Most importantly she doesn’t judge she just helps . I couldn’t recommended her highly enough . Mike Abbott

Healthy Chickpea and Vegetable Winter Soup Recipe

Ready in: 30 minutes
Chickpea Soaking: Overnight

It has been a while but I have been encouraged to write a blog on some healthy recipes I create, which can be made so easily, and can be used over three days for three different meals. I had some chickpeas and a variety of vegetables in the fridge, perfect for a winter soup.

Winter is just around the corner and we still need to keep it healthy and stay on track with our health.  I invested in a slow cooker and it is perfect for busy people.  You can prepare the meal in the morning and let it slow cook all day and dinner is ready when you return.

INGREDIENTS

Chickpea
Turmeric
Cinnamon
Paprika
Garlic
Cracked pepper
3 Cups of Water
Celery
Sweet potato
Greens
Bone Broth
Coconut Cream

DIRECTIONS

Firstly I soak overnight a cup of organic chickpeas.

Next morning I place chickpeas and a few spices, turmeric, cinnamon, paprika, garlic and cracked pepper in the slow cooker with 3 cups of water.

Then I add any vegetable I have left in the fridge, e.g. celery, sweet potato, greens, whatever you have and let it cook on low all day. When I arrive home I add a cup of homemade bone broth (will give recipe for this if you need) and a cup of organic coconut cream. There you have it an amazing healthy, warm and nourishing meal for all the family.

The great news is if you have any left over you can drain the mix and add some chia seeds to bind and some besan flour and make rissoles, with a beautiful side of salad and you have another healthy meal.

If there is still leftovers you can blend it up and make a wonderful, nourishing soup.

So easy, so healthy.

Hope you enjoy

Welcome to 2017

Welcome to 2o17

What a wonderful summer we are having and a warm welcome to 2017

I had a fantastic Christmas and New Year with my family and now starting the year off with a
21 day Detox, Cleanse and Nourish Program.  I love this program as it is easy to do and it comes with all the steps to achieve a great outcome.

I will be writing a whole blog on that for anyone interested in having a fresh start for 2017.

The Group Sessions will be starting up again in March.  These Groups are for people who want to improve on their health but find it more economical to do this in a group setting.  The sessions run for 6 weeks and we meet once a week for 1.5 hours.  The cost is $3o per session.  In these sessions we take the holistic approach.  We look at what might be blocking you from moving forward in your life.  I love these groups and it is amazing just how much we all have in common and how we  can help one another.

I am available for individual consultations. My price for these are $70 per session and these are tailored to the individual.

I look forward to this year and what it is going to bring for my life and others.

Group Sessions

Commencing Wednesday October 19, 2016.

In these Groups we will do the 3 month program where we look at all aspects of health.  We meet once a week for 2 hours and the cost is $30 a week.

There will be six in each group so there is plenty of time to share and grow. I am hoping to draw  clients with the same needs, so when you fill out the form just let me know what is concerning you with your health, finances, relationships, career or spiritual needs and I will endeavor to connect you to the right group.  In the contact form just write a short statement about your concerns and I will contact you.

I am offering a complimentary Health History consultation prior to the Group commencing. This is an hour consultation so I can have all your forms and necessary material ready to start on the night.

Lets break into summer with a new lease on life. Let me help you find your best you.

Inflammation

I have written about inflammation before but it is a topic that keeps recurring with my clients.

We don’t realize what it is doing to our bodies.

How do we know if we are suffering inflammation.  Since it is all happening internally, we don’t tend to feel the symptoms of chronic inflammation until it turns into something bigger.  It has been linked to a number of autoimmune diseases, including lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn’s disease and multiple sclerosis.

So how do we deal with this problem. We can try with an anti-inflammatory diet, also using some supplements such as tumeric, and removing our vices such as cigarettes and alcohol.  Also moderately intense exercise can help decrease inflammation.

I believe its all about getting our gut right and I like to try my clients with a 21 day detox program and in severe cases and if it is possible to try a small fast.

If you have any questions or if I can help you please contact me with the email form below.

Testimony from Robyn

Since doing the program with Pam I have a sense of order to life that was not there previously.  I feel I have a more structured approach to home life and as a result greater peace has been achieved.  I have felt a greater sense of control and peace over my home and a balance of work and caring for my family.  I used to find it difficult to cook home cooked healthy meals but since working with Pam I have learned to cook meals every night of the week.

I would describe Pam as a warm, genuine person and you instantly feel a sense of peace just being in her presence.  She also had a great depth of knowledge about whole food eating and about how to build positive relationships and care for self. The most exciting thing is I lost 12 kilos and have made a lifestyle change.

I would recommend Pam to friends and family interested in changing their lifestyle and eating habits.

TESTIMONY FROM MY FIRST GRADUATE CLIENT

AIKA

Top 3 goals upon starting the 6-month program were:

  • understand what to do to solve the problems I have
  • loose weight
  • learn to relax

My coach was able to help me work toward these goals by

  • meditation
  • talking to me
  • praying
  • changing the way I look at food and making much better choices

My biggest tangible change I have noticed since beginning the program has been

  • I became calmer, peaceful, wiser. I have made the right decision for myself
  • I improved on my fittness, sleep and weight.

The most significant overall change I have noticed has been

  • I have chosen the right way to solve my problem
  • I am happier

I would describe my coach as:

Passionate, amazing, concrete person without any judgement.

I would recommend my coach to

If someone asks me about how I solved my problems, I would just give her phone number and the site address.

Other comments and feedback:

It was so lovely to meet Pam.  She came into my life at the right time and the right place. Thank you for helping me and caring for my problems.  Hope to see you again  Aika
